The Co-op has appointed David Llewelyn as its executive innovation chef.
Llewelyn will be responsible for overseeing product creation for the company, which include its GRO vegan and Irresistible product selections.
He joins the symbol group’s director of delicious food Breige Donaghy, and the innovation team to drive forward the future innovation platforms for brand proposition.
His responsibilities will include leading his team to develop new ranges for the convenience retailer and tracking popular food trends while implementing emerging technologies and increasing sustainability within its NPD.
Llewelyn has 15 years of food industry experience, and most recently worked as the executive development and innovation chef at Greencore.
He has held senior positions at Waitrose, Bighams and Bakkavor.

“I look forward to having the opportunity to inspire and educate further and continue to deliver good food, taking ingredients and turning them into food that makes people happy.”
