Tesco has been slammed by customers for already selling Easter eggs four months early.
Despite the Christmas period ending just days ago, some of the Big 4 grocer’s stores have already begun to prepare their shelves for Easter, which falls on 9 April this year.
As a result, shoppers took to social media to express their confusion over the chocolate eggs being available to buy in supermarkets already.

“Easter is over 3 months away. Could you not have waited until after 6th January so we could finish celebrating Christmas first?.” another Tesco customer said on New Years Eve, the seventh day of Christmas.
Really @Tesco ? It’s 31st Dec, NYE, 7th day of Christmas, and there is nothing of ‘Christmas’ left in your shop on Fleet Street. Yet Easter Eggs abound. Easter is over 3 months away. According to Tesco, the early Easter eggs are on the shelves due to customers like to buy ahead of time.
A spokesperson for the Big 4 grocer told Sky News: “It’s a few weeks until customers are able to choose from our full range of Easter products.
“However, we know some of our customers like to buy their eggs early, so we have started selling a small selection in some of our stores.”
