Tesco is slashing the price of delivery on its Whoosh rapid grocery delivery service, giving customers more incentive to order online over winter and during the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
From Thursday 17th November, customers will pay a delivery fee of £2.99 (down from £5) to have a range of fresh food and household products delivered direct to their door within the hour.
As more than half of Whoosh deliveries are made within 30 minutes, the UK’s largest retailer says football fans could “order their snacks, beers or pizzas before kick-off and have them by half-time.”

Whoosh deliveries are available to more than half the UK population – with more locations going live all the time.
The supermaket chain is also offering two pizzas and one of a selection of alcoholic, non-alcoholic and soft drinks for £5.50.
“We know football fans won’t want to miss a second of the action, making our superfast delivery service Whoosh the ideal way to keep your eye on the ball,” Tesco’s head of Whoosh, Greg Bertrand, said:
He added: “And we’re cutting our Whoosh delivery fee to just £2.99 – meaning fans can get what they need delivered direct to their door within an hour for even less.”
The news comes as Tesco is rebranding its “reduced to clear” section allowing better visibility for customers looking to save money on items, as rising food bills push inflation to a 41-year high.
