Nisa cuts jobs in bid to lower business costs
Nisa has confirmed that the staff redundancies, which was originally announced in July, have now taken place.
The job cuts are also believed to have included many roles in its head office, however, the symbol group declined to confirm any exact numbers or positions of staff who lost their jobs, but it is understood that around 50 people have left the company.
At the time the redundancies were announced, Nisa released a statement saying they were being made to “lower our costs, in order to offer greater support to our partners and their customers during the current cost of living crisis.”
Nisa added: “We recognise this is a difficult time for so many and we are seeking to approach the review accordingly, while recognising the realities of the current economic climate.”
The move comes after former Nisa CEO Ken Towle announced in January that he was leaving to become retail director at Asda.
He was replaced by then Co-op chief commercial officer Michael Fletcher, who is Nisa’s current CEO.
