On-demand grocery delivery company, Gorillas has launched a pop-up coffee shop set to be staffed by homeless individuals in London.
Located within its dark store in Hampstead, the shop will be run by social enterprise and charity, Change Please, with all profits donated to people experiencing homelessness though providing them with a living wage job, housing and training.
Those working within the store will also be provided with the London living wage and full barista training.
As an extension to the coffee shop, there will be a click and collect space for local Gorillas customers who want to pick up orders made via its app, rather than using the delivery service.

“This pop-up coffee shop is another example of Gorillas’ commitment to adding value to local high streets, repurposing shuttered stores around the capital, while also exploring partnerships which benefit local communities”, the delivery company said.
As of February this year, Gorillas had 34 UK dark stores, however according to The Grocer, the UK is set to have 1,500 grocery dark stores by 2030 across the delivery sector.
This news comes as in June, Gorillas launched four proprietary private label brands “Gorillas Daily”, “Gorillas Premium”, “Hot Damn” and “<start-up beer>” in Europe.
The ranges include around 50 products in 11 of the most demanded categories in its UK, German, French and Dutch markets.
