Co-op’s Aoife Kenny joins Unitas Wholesale as commercial director

Unitas Wholesale has appointed Aoife Kenny as its new commercial director.

The move follows the recent announcement of retirement of John Baines as trading director.

Reporting to managing director John Kinney, Kenny will join the board of wholesale group and will be responsible for both the trading and commercial areas of the business.

“I am absolutely delighted o welcome Aoife to Unitas at such an important time in our development as we seek to re-shape Unitas to become a more member-centric organisation and cement our place as the UK’s leading buying group,” Unitas Wholesale managing director John Kinny said.

“Aoife has the skills, values and experience that we were looking for, gained during a successful career across, wholesale, foodservice, retail and manufacturing.

Prior to Unitas, she has held a number of senior positions across retail, foodservice and manufacturing, including firms such as s Central Co-op, Heart of England Co-ops, Enterprise Foods, PepsiCo, Burton’s Biscuits and the Kepak Group.

She most latterly held the position of interim head of foodservice at AF Blakemore and will take up her new role in September 2022.
