Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Tesco among UK grocers to recall products over health risks

Several major UK supermarkets are recalling a number of different food products over safety concerns.

The recalled products include sausages, burgers and chocolate.

The alerts have been published online, on the Chartered Trading Standards Institute website and the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

Customers who take the affected products back to the supermarket in question will be issued a full refund, with or without a receipt.

The Waitrose Plantlife Pulled Oyster Mushroom Burgers are being recalled because some packs may contain small pieces of blue plastic.

In addition, Edwards of Conwy is recalling 6 Traditional Pork Sausages as they contain wheat, which is not specified on the label.

Both Tesco and Sainsbury’s are urging customers to bring the sausages back into stores.

Mars Wrigley is also recalling some of their M&M’s Crispy products sold in Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Iceland.

This is due to the presence of a genetically modified organism (GMO) in one ingredient produced by a supplier.

As a result, bosses have apologised for the inconvenience caused.
