Diageo appoints Joanne Wilson as CFO
Diageo has announced the appointment of Joanne Wilson as chief financial officer (CFO) and she will join the board and executive committee in 2027.
Wilson is currently the CFO of WPP and she previously served in senior financial and commercial roles at drinks giant Britvic.
Additionally, she brings extensive years of experience to the role, having previously worked at major supermarket retailer Tesco and KPMG.
She will succeed Nik Jhangiani, who joined Guinness’ parent company from Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, in September 2024.
He served as interim CEO from July to December 2025 following the abrupt exit of the previous CEO amid increasing financial pressure for the company.

During his time as interim CEO, he led the Accelerate turnover programme which aimed to focus on cash delivery and cost efficiency.
Jhangiani said: “I have enjoyed every minute of my time at Diageo. I am proud that we were recently able to set out our three-year financial plan to our investors, including significant progress on deleveraging and strengthening our balance sheet.
“I would like to thank my fantastic team for their support, and I wish Dave and all our colleagues the very best for the future.”
Sir Dave Lewis, CEO of Diageo said: “It is a real pleasure working with Nik, and I would like to thank him for his support of me and his significant contribution to Diageo. Nik and I have agreed that, now that we have shared our new strategy, this is the right time for this change. Nik will remain in the role to ensure a smooth handover to Joanne.
“Joanne is a very experienced CFO and commercial leader who will ensure we accelerate the turnaround of Diageo, having already delivered extensive transformations in her previous companies. I am looking forward to welcoming her to Diageo and the executive team.”
