Organic wine brand Vinca is launching its sustainable aluminium bottled wines into M&S Food stores across the UK.

The brand’s organic red and white wines will be available in 116 M&S Food stores from 6 May 2026, marking a major retail milestone for the business.

Vinca, which first launched its canned wines in 2021, has expanded into full-sized 750ml bottles made from 100 per cent post-consumer recycled aluminium.

The bottles, which have an RRP of £10.50, will be available in two varieties: Organic Catarratto, a crisp Sicilian white, and Organic Syrah & Nero d’Avola, a juicy red blend.

Vinca said its aluminium bottles offer a lower-impact alternative to traditional glass wine bottles. According to an independent carbon audit by Zevero, the format reduces carbon emissions by nearly 50 per cent compared with glass, while the bottle itself weighs just 68g empty, compared with around 450g for a standard glass bottle.

The brand said the lighter, slimmer packaging also allows 40 per cent more bottles to fit in each shipping container and enables retailers to merchandise three Vinca bottles in the same space as two glass bottles.

Vinca co-founder Charlie Vass said: “Seeing our bottles arrive in M&S Food is a major milestone for us. Vinca set out to prove that you don’t have to accept the environmental cost of glass to enjoy great wine.

“This format lets us keep everything we care about in the liquid, while dramatically reducing the impact around it. For us, this is what progress in wine should look like.”

M&S wine buyer Harriet Coates added: “At M&S, we’re always looking for ways to offer customers great quality wine with a lower environmental footprint.

“Vinca’s aluminium bottles are an innovative step forward, combining strong sustainability credentials with wines that deliver on flavour and quality. We’re delighted to be introducing them to our stores.”

Vinca works with small, family-owned vineyards in Sicily, with a focus on organic and sustainable farming.

The wines are already available online through Vinca, as well as at Booths and 300 Tesco stores across the UK.
