LA Foods and Co-op Wholesale open flagship London Nisa store
LA Foods opened a new flagship London Nisa store on Holloway Road, Islington, on 8 August, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The opening marked a key milestone for LA Foods and Co-op Wholesale as the partners commemorated over 25 years of business together following a five-year contract extension.
The new store offers a range of Co-op brand products with an expanded chilled range, the introduction of electronic shelf edge labels (SELs) to streamline operations and improve pricing accuracy as well as a food-to-go section.
Additionally, there is a prominent produce island which is positioned at the entrance which shows a selection of loose fresh fruits and vegetables.
Martin Swadling, customer director at Co-op Wholesale, said: “It was great to be part of such a wonderful Nisa store opening, as it always is when it’s in partnership with a brilliant business like LA Foods.

“Marking the next chapter in our journey together is a really proud moment and it was extra special to be joined by so many local shoppers, who we hope will enjoy shopping here for years to come.”
This marks 13 London-based stores which are currently operating under the Nisa’s franchise and LA Foods intends to continue the partnership with Co-op Wholesale to stock its brand range.
Co-op Wholesale backed the store opening with branded samples and bags from Britvic and Pip & Nut to offer shoppers.
Additionally, a digital ad van was supplied to advertise the store launch throughout the local area and to drive customer footfall.
