Plant-based drinks brand Rude Health is expanding its chilled range at Asda with the launch of a Chilled Oat Drink with Calcium and a Chilled Almond Drink with Calcium.

This move comes after the brand experienced a strong performance across its chilled portfolio over the past year with 50.2 per cent growth.

The launch marks a major step in the company’s retail expansion, with a presence at Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Asda.

According to the business, the two products were made with selected natural ingredients, with no sugar, with the additional benefit of being high in calcium.

This builds on Rude Health’s expanding chilled portfolio, which includes coconut, hazelnut and soya drinks.

Sam Maguire, UK country manager, Oddlygood group, said: “Bringing our chilled Oat and Almond Drinks with Calcium to Asda marks an exciting milestone for Rude Health, making the range available to even more shoppers across the UK.

“At Rude Health, we’ve always believed that delicious starts with real ingredients, and this new listing means even more shoppers will be able to discover our chilled range.”

The launch comes as the wider chilled plant-based category grew by 1.1 per cent to around £164m, driven by shoppers seeking healthier products.

Additionally, the wider Rude Health brand has increased by 18.9 per cent year-on-year, which outperforms the plant-based category.

Research from Oddlygood Group revealed that more than half (53 per cent) of lapsed plant-based drinkers say they are likely to return to the category.

This research shows that retailers have the opportunity to drive category growth through premium products to attract a wider consumer base.
