Wonderfield Group posts record UK kiosk sales as sushi demand grows

The Wonderfield Group has recorded its highest-ever sales week across its UK kiosk estate, just nine weeks into the new financial year.

The performance follows the rollout of new propositions across YO! and Panku kiosks in Tesco and Asda stores.

Wonderfield said the updated offers were built around consumer insight, shopper behaviour and wider market trends, with changes made across menu mix, presentation, pricing and value.

The group said the new propositions have delivered sustained sales growth since launch and ‘strengthened its position in the UK sushi market’.

A growing number of kiosks are now beating their own weekly sales records, while several locations are continuing to report year-on-year sales growth of more than 100 per cent.

Wonderfield said the performance is part of a wider shift in consumer tastes, with shoppers increasingly looking for fresh, convenient and healthier meal options.

The company cited industry data showing sushi overtook sandwiches in 2023 to become the fastest-growing premium lunchtime treat.

Wonderfield Group UK&I managing director Carl Webber said the record week was a major moment for the business.

“Achieving our best-ever sales week so early in the financial year is a fantastic accomplishment and a testament to the hard work of our teams, franchise partners and colleagues across the business,” he said.

“The success of our new propositions, combined with the continued growth in consumer demand for sushi and Japanese food, gives us tremendous confidence for the year ahead.

“We’re seeing exceptional performances across our kiosk portfolio and remain focused on delivering great products and experiences for our customers.”
