Lindt taps into matcha craze with cherry blossom and strawberry-inspired spring range

News

Lindt has unveiled a new line-up of Japanese-inspired chocolates for spring and summer.

The limited-edition range includes LINDOR Cherry Blossom, a Sakura-inspired truffle featuring a cherry blossom filling wrapped in a white chocolate shell, as well as LINDOR Matcha in Cornet format, which combines white chocolate with a matcha-infused green tea centre.

Also joining the line-up is Lindt Tokyo Style Chocolate Matcha Strawberry, a white chocolate bar made with ceremonial grade Chamei Minami matcha, crispy Genmai roasted rice and strawberry flavouring. The product returns to Lindt stores nationwide after what the business described as a sell-out limited run last year.

The launch comes as Japanese-inspired flavours continue to gain traction with shoppers, particularly matcha, which has become increasingly prominent across food and drink categories.

Miquetta de Castro, master chocolatier at Lindt & Sprüngli UK, said: “Inspired by the florals of Sakura and the depth of matcha from Japan, our new flavours combine delicate, seasonal tastes with Lindt’s signature Swiss white chocolate.

“We’re excited for people to experience a flavour of spring with our latest innovations. These indulgent creations are only available until August for you to melt away into a moment of pure bliss.”

Lindt said the new products are now rolling out across its own stores, website and selected retail partners for a limited period.

LINDOR Cherry Blossom is available now in Lindt stores and via Lindt.co.uk, with a Tesco launch scheduled for May. LINDOR Matcha will be available from May.
