The Cuckfield store has reopened following a four-week investment programme to renovate and extend the location.

The investment store includes an increased shopfloor to enhance the range and choice, the addition of Costa Coffee Express and new refrigeration to cut energy consumption and an expanded selection of fresh and chilled products.

Tom Harper, Co-op area manager, said: “We’re delighted to invest in Cuckfield and proud to be part of local community life. We work to ensure the store is a hub locally, and we have a focus on offering quality products, value and choice that can be enjoyed by everyone.

“The store has been transformed with a great new look and enhanced range, and we’re here to serve and support the community conveniently.”

The other stores set to re-open before Easter are located in Pickering, Market Place, and Innerleithen, Peebles Road.  Additionally, a new franchise-operated store is set to open in the Aberdeenshire village of Cruden Bay.

The store also offers home delivery of groceries through Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat, and there is payment services provided in store via PayPoint.

Co-op will be offering deals and promotions throughout the store, and members can access lower prices across essential products.

The store openings come after the retailer saw a profit loss in its full-year results, impacted by the cyberattacks last year.

Additionally, the CEO departed after the ongoing challenges faced by the c-store retailer in 2025.
