Aldi announces plans to hire over 1,100 colleagues
Aldi is set to create over 1,100 new jobs across the UK to support its expansion plans to open 40 new stores.
The discount supermarket will be hiring for a range of positions, including both full-time and part-time, such as store assistants and cleaners, with salaries of up to £69,000.
This recruitment drive follows a recent pay raise for its employees set to take place from 1 April onwards.
Store assistants will receive an increased hourly pay of £13.50 nationwide and £14.88 within the M25, which rises to £14.47 and £15.20, respectively, based on length of service.
Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, said: “We want to encourage more people across the UK to consider a career in retail, starting with high-quality training and development that gives people the skills and confidence to succeed.

“As we open more stores, we’re creating more opportunities for people to start to build rewarding careers with Aldi.
“With market-leading pay, clear progression routes and ongoing support, we’re helping more people grow in retail while bringing Aldi’s award-winning, affordable products to more local communities.”
The pay raise was part of a £42m investment in colleague benefits in 2026, reinforcing the supermarket’s mission to be the top paying retailer.
Earlier this year in January, the discounter announced its two-year expansion programme, which includes developing new stores in Southam in Warwickshire, Hastings in East Sussex and Amersham in Buckinghamshire.
