Global foods supplier Golden Acre Foods has stocked a selection of products to support UK retailers’ in-store and online seasonal promotions for Ramadan.

Ramadan is expected to begin on February 17 and end on either 18 or 19 March, depending on the sighting of the moon.

The supplier partnered with Tesco to secure a retail listing for Middle-Eastern non-alcoholic malt drink brand Barbican which will be available in 88 stores for Ramadan.

The deal will see three Barbican variants, Pomegranate, Strawberry and Apple, debut in the world food aisle for a retail price of £8.

Additionally, Jomara Dates will be supplied in the seasonal aisle at Tesco and Sainsbury’s for a limited time period, priced between £4.50 and £15.

Rebecca Cutter, head of marketing for Golden Acre Foods said: “Supermarkets are increasingly promoting themed weeks to shoppers in the seasonal fixture.

“By working closely with retailers to promote a variety of authentic cuisines during themed weeks, we expect to raise awareness of the importance of stocking the right range during these festivals. This ensures the category remains interesting to shoppers and can continuously adapt to reflect changing food and shopper trends.”

Golden Acre will also be listing Pakistan’s top biscuit and cake brand EBM (English Biscuit Manufacturers) in 228 UK stores from 20 January onwards across Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s.

The foods supplier will also be backing the launch and integrated marketing campaign of Ashoka, a South Asian brand which relaunched at retailers Tesco and Co-op last month.
