Sainsbury’s has announced a three-year partnership with animal charity Battersea Dogs and Cats Home to mark the extension of the supermarket’s premium Nature’s Goodness dog food range.

The private-label pet food range has grown from 11 lines to 23 since September, adding both dry and wet dog food, treats and various formats.

As part of the partnership, 10p from every pack sold featuring the Battersea logo will be donated to help support the care of thousands of cats and dogs across the UK.

Daniel Mortimer, head of buying for Pet at Sainsbury’s, said: “The premium dog food segment is performing well, and with Nature’s Goodness, we’ve created a range that delivers goodness in every bowl.

“Our recipes combine nutrition, quality, and variety with pet owners’ love for their pets, and their desire to help dogs in need. The partnership with Battersea is central to that mission, and we’re proud to feature our commitment to the charity on pack.”

The retailer rebranded the Nature’s Goodness pack to include a ‘goodness in every bowl’ strapline and includes Adult Chicken, Adult Lamb, Adult Small Dog, Adult Sensitive, and Senior Dog bags.

The move to grow the product lines reflects the success of the range and growing demand for premium dog food options, according to the company.

Three tray lines were added, with 150g chicken and beef variants, alongside a 6 x 150g multipack.
