The new store – which is in the west coast, more than 220 miles north of Edinburgh – has led to 20 new jobs being created and opens from 7am to 10pm daily. The convenience retailer’s store includes customer car parking and large parking bays as well.
Co-op’s new store will offer consumers fresh and healthy produce, meat and dairy, food-to-go and meal deals, bakery items, flowers, ready-made meals and essential products.
Additionally, the new store plans to add a Costa Coffee Express and parcel collection locker soon.
Daniel Simpson, Co-op area manager, said: “We’re delighted to invest in Gairloch – we are proud to become part of local community life; we have had a great response today.
“The store looks fantastic, and we have a focus on being a hub locally for the community and visitors to the area – delivering the quality, choice, value and added services which can be enjoyed by everyone.”
