Coca-Cola has announced a £120,000 donation to charities picked by six independent retailers as part of its The Bosses campaign.

The scheme aims to highlight the independent retailers who have played a role in Coca-Cola’s presence across Britain.

Six local retailers were chosen to be a part of a tribute which celebrated their contribution towards the community and wider convenience retail services.

Coca-Cola’s campaign features photographs and mini documentaries capturing the retailer’s families and lives, showing the impact and support for Coca-Cola during its 125 years in Britain.

The business collaborated with photographer Serena Brown and director Ross Bolidai to create an emotive series of behind-the-scenes footage of the retailers’ lives.

As part of the campaign, Coca-Cola gave the six retailers £20,000 to fund charities which drive meaningful change within their local communities.

Stephen Moorhouse, general manager at Coca-Cola GB, said: “The retailers featured in The Bosses are extraordinary individuals who give so much to the people around them.

“We’re proud to work closely with convenience retailers across Great Britain, and these donations reflect our continued commitment to supporting the people and places at the heart of their communities.”

The funds will be donated to local food banks, hospices, youth initiatives and cultural organisations across the UK.

Coca-Cola chose families that run convenience retail stores in Edinburgh, Wigston, Leicester, Swanage, Pontefract and Catford.

Bobby Singh, owner of BB Superstore & Post Office in Pontefract, said: “These donations will make a real difference to people locally, and I’m grateful to Coca-Cola for helping to support causes close to my heart and the local community.”
