Nisa Local Mackworth has been recognised for donating £3,000 to local charities through Co-op Wholesale’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) scheme.

The independent retailer received the Community Champion for the Midlands award at the Federation of Independent Retailers’ Autumn 2025 Awards.

The store donated £2,000 to Mackworth Estate Community Association and £1,000 to Derby Women’s Centre, which was used to support people in need and fund local community charity initiatives.

Neil Dosanjh, director of ASN Retail Ltd, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be able to give back to the local community in meaningful ways. Mackworth has such a strong community spirit, and these donations will help make a real difference to people’s lives over the festive season. Being recognised as Community Champion for the Midlands is a huge honour and a testament to the efforts of our amazing team.”

Since the launch of the MADL programme, Co-op Wholesale has raised over £18m for various charity initiatives. This programme reinstates Co-op Wholesale’s commitment to supporting social causes.
