Co-op opens the doors to new on the go store

Co-op has announced the launch of a new ‘on the go’ micro store format located in Stamford Quarter, Altrincham, Greater Manchester.

The new concept focuses on a new range of ‘food-on-the-go’ packages for customers, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as hot food served over the counter.

Gary Williams, Co-op director of store optimisation, said: “The whole team is excited to launch our new concept store in the Stamford Quarter.

“We continually look for new ways to get closer to our customers and deliver added convenience. Our new concept brings together an innovative blend of food-to-go propositions, with freshly prepared products designed to stand out in this vibrant and thriving community.”

The retailer’s first ‘on-the-go’ store format was launched in Solihull, West Midlands, in July and is part of Co-op’s expansion plans.

The convenience retailer made the move to meet the increasing demand for fast, high-quality, ready-made meals that are served throughout the day.

After 7 pm, online delivery would be available through delivery partners Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat.

A spokesperson for Co-op said the new store “marks an exciting step for the regeneration of the neighbourhood”.

Co-op’s reputation for convenience, quality, and supporting local communities makes it a perfect fit for the Stamford Quarter, and we’re confident it will be a fantastic addition for our visitors and the wider Altrincham community.”
