Aldi to give remote work experience to 10,000 young people
Aldi has announced a pledge to offer 10,000 students remote work experience to build their skills by the end of 2025.
The free online course is designed to introduce people aged 13 and over to different careers in the retail industry, including warehouse and store operations as well as office-based roles.
Lisa Murphy, Training and Development Director at Aldi UK, said: “We know how important work experience is in helping young people take their first steps into the world of work. Our virtual work experience programme has already proved popular with thousands of students, and we want to ensure even more benefit from it.

“That’s why we’ve made the commitment to reach 10,000 young people by the end of this year, making it easier than ever for them to access opportunities, regardless of where they live or their personal circumstances.”
This new pledge builds on Aldi’s first virtual work programme, which was launched in December 2024 and received thousands of applications from youth across the country.
As part of the programme, young people will learn about Aldi operations from a series of videos from staff members, quizzes and activities.
Last week, Aldi pledged £350,000 to charity Teenage Cancer Trust to give staff at the organisation’s head office further training as part of its apprenticeship levy.
