Asda is set to launch a new digital insight platform, Asda Xpert, developed in partnership with data analytics firm eStoreBrands.

Rolling out next week, the platform aims to “better help Asda and its suppliers understand, and more effectively meet the needs of its online shoppers”, according to Retail Week.

It is understood Asda Xpert will combine digital shelf analytics with live performance metrics to give brands insight into product visibility, shopper behaviour and market trends.

The supermarket says the tool will support suppliers in driving mutual category growth and boosting e-commerce performance.

The move comes as the supermarket chain continues to focus on its online proposition amid a wider turnaround strategy.

Earlier this week the retailer has reportedly been exploring a £400m sale and leaseback deal on 20 stores to raise funds for investment.

Just read about asda and the new online tool to help shoppers. After the update of the Asda app i have not been able to complete a order, when I have rang customer service they have told me it will be fixed so few days an still nothing so I cancelled my account to then start a new one and now it will not let me make a new one so I rang asda again and they sent me a email so I can send them screenshots and this was a few days ago an still nothing. I am not pleased with the service.
