Innocent Drinks has unveiled the nine recipients of its 2025 Farmer Innovation Fund, committing a further £1m in support of regenerative agriculture projects.

The winning projects span key areas across Europe and Latin America, such as soil health, water efficiency, biodiversity and carbon reduction, with suppliers working on ten core ingredients.

This is the second year of the fund, which plays a central role in Innocent’s drive to decarbonise its supply chain, ingredients currently account for over half of its carbon footprint.

Repeat recipients such as UK-based Pixley Berries and Poland’s Time 4 Bee (Doehler Foundation), while Spanish supplier SVZ project involves it scaling precision irrigation tech that aims to cut water usage by 12.6%.

Meanwhile, new recipients include Chiquita in Costa Rica, which is developing more disease-resistant banana varieties, and Konfrut in Turkey, piloting low-carbon and water-saving practices on smallholder pomegranate farms.

Innocent CEO Nick Canney said the programme underlines the brand’s long-standing commitment to “building meaningful partnerships” in its fruit and veg supply chain.

“We’ve been championing fruit and veg since 1999, we’re on a mission to help people live well through the delicious goodness of the stuff, for now and generations to come,” he added

“This year’s Farmer Innovation Fund winners are tackling some of agriculture’s key challenges, and it’s inspiring to see our suppliers at the forefront of the transition to more sustainable farming practices.”

The grants were awarded with input from an external advisory board of agriculture experts to ensure funding drives long-term positive change.

Last month, the smoothie and juice brand named Nicki Garland as its new Head of UK & Ireland, following the departure of John Taylor after 17 years with the business.
