Nichols profits jump as Vimto retail sales hits record high

Soft drinks group Nichols delivered a strong performance last year leading to a strong growth in profit.

In the year to 31 December 2024, adjusted operating profit jumped 14.6% to £28.9m, while group sales edged up 1.2% to £172.8m.

Overall packaged sales increased by 4.4% and UK packaged sales were up 6.3%, while key brand Vimto achieved its highest ever retail sales value in the UK of £121.2m.

Nichols chief executive Andrew Milne said Vimto’s strong performance was driven by “Expanded distribution, new product innovation and our biggest ever marketing campaign.”

Nichols anticipates that the performance will strengthen further across 2025, with trading to date in line with management expectations.

Milne added: “At our Capital Markets Day in November, we outlined our medium-term financial ambitions and a clear roadmap for growth. We operate in a resilient and growing category and are well positioned to capitalise on the significant opportunities across both our UK and international markets, leveraging the strength of the Vimto brand.

“Underpinned by our diversified business model, strong brand portfolio, and solid financial position, I remain confident in our ability to drive high-margin, cash-generative growth and deliver long-term value for our shareholders.”
