Gillian Anderson’s functional drinks brand G Spot has hired a new executive team to boost UK expansion, following its supermarket debut last month.

Chrysi Philalithes has stepped into the role of acting CEO for G Ology, the company that houses Anderson’s businesses including G Spot, taking over from former boss Rebekah Hall, who left in December, The Grocer reported.

Having previously held senior marketing and digital positions at companies founded by Ryan Reynolds and Bono, the brand said Philalithes had a “wealth of experience in building creative brands and businesses, and in scaling and selling startups”.

Meanwhile, social entrepreneur, investor and qualified solicitor Akta Raja has been appointed as executive chairwoman, bringing experience of founding and leading value-driven businesses to the role.

G Spot, which first launched in 2023, rolled out into Fortnum & Mason, Harvey Nichols, and Selfridges last year and just last month, made its supermarket debut with the launch of three products in Sainsbury’s.

The selection features three new SKUs in Lift: red berries and Sarawak, Soothe: scarlet apple and sage, and Protect: ginger and peppercorn.

Alongside other health benefits, G Spot says its drinks offer an alternative to high-sugar and caffeinated drinks and are made without artificial sweeteners.

At the time of the launch, Anderson said: “It’s now easier than ever for people to get a taste of what G Spot is all about – bold, refreshing and unapologetically good for you.”

“With our adaptogen and nootropic-enhanced drinks you never have to compromise – taste and health go hand in hand. Or as we like to say, G Spot brings indulgence and wellness together in every sip.”
