Tesco has added a non-alcoholic beer option to its ‘Finest Dine In for Two’ offer for the first time with Lucky Saint’s alcohol-free lager.

The move comes off the back of continued growth of the no and low drinks categories at the supermarket giant.

During Dry January 2024, sales of no and low beer and cider surged 15% year on year, while no and low spirits were up by nearly 40%, and no and low wine by 20%.

This rise continued into the summer with midweek matches during the Euros gaining new supporters for lower or non-alcoholic alternatives, with the highest week of sales outside of Christmas taking place and demand even topping Dry January.

Lucky Saint founder Luke Boase said: “Demand for alcohol-free beer in supermarkets continues to rise with increasing numbers of people buying alcohol-free beer when choosing what to drink, whether that’s throughout the week or at the weekend.

“We’re proud that Lucky Saint is the first ever alcohol-free beer to be included in the Tesco Finest Dine In range, providing a great tasting alcohol-free 4-pack for shoppers to pick up with their dinner. By partnering with Tesco and Drinkaware on this launch, shoppers now have a greater choice than ever available to them.”

In addition to the alcohol-free beer, Tesco will also add a further 11 new seasonal dishes for autumn/winter to the Finest Dine In for Two deal, which offers a main, side, dessert and drink for two people for £12 with a Clubcard.

New main options include a Chicken & Serrano Ham with Beurre Blanc Sauce, Fish Pie, Flame-Seared Chicken & Portobello Mushroom Risotto, Slow Cooked Steak Pie, SunBlush Tomato Gnocchi with Roasted Butternut Squash, and Pulled Beef with Chianti Sauce and Cheddar & Herb Dumplings.

New sides include Roasted Mushrooms in Creamy Garlic Sauce, Triple Cooked Chips with Cornish Sea Salt, and Baby Potatoes, Chantenay Carrots & Tenderstem Broccoli with Garlic Dressing, while new desserts include Lemon and Mascarpone Cheesecake Slices, and Bramley Apple Flapjack Crumble.
