Asda celebrates heatwave as sorbet sales soar
Asda is celebrating the UK’s recent heatwave as it reveals sales of sorbets have soared at the supermarket, with its new products flying off the selves.
Earlier this year, the grocery retailer launched two new flavours – Lemon Sorbet (£2.55) and Mango Sorbet (£2.55) – as part of its 2024 ice cream range.
The grocer has sold 80,000 tubs since the debut of the products, with ‘sorbet’ on Asda.com having increased by over 50% since April 2024.

Asda frozen product development manager Jemma Copley said: “We were looking to add fresh and vibrant flavours to the range. The two new lines are perfect for a hot day and are a lighter option for that post-BBQ dessert.
“They are simple recipes with great flavour impact, which we knew customers would reach for this summer”.
The supermarket has also predicted a new summer trend, as social media buzz around ‘sorbet’ has risen by 20.1%, shoppers are attempting to recreate various recipes including sorbet spritz cocktails, Limoncello spritz and mango spritz.
