Aldi has brought back Kevin the Carrot with an Olympic makeover to celebrate the Paris 2024 games.

The discounter, which is the official supermarket sponsor of Team GB and ParalympicsGB, has launched a limited-edition version of its Kevin the Carrot soft toy.

The toy, which is dressed in a blue Union Jack headband, will be available in the middle aisle from 25 July until stocks last priced at £3.99.

Alongside the soft toy, Aldi has unveiled a new TV advert showing Kevin’s ‘Race against Thyme’.

Airing today (19 July), the ad created by McCann Manchester, is set to iconic Olympic music and shows Kévin La Carotte in Paris looking to save the day, bringing a torch to the games so that they can begin.

It’s not the first time that the grocer’s Kevin the Carrot mascot has featured in a TV advert, having also been the star of Aldi’s Christmas ads and the feature in its 2022 World Cup ad.

In the same year, over 70,000 shoppers queued online at Aldi to buy its Kevin the Carrot toys featured in the discount grocer’s 2022 Christmas advert.

The “extremely high” demand for the toys saw hundreds of customers queuing outside Aldi stores across the country.
