M&S has extended its opening hours in the week before Christmas to help last-minute shoppers.
From 18 to 22 December, more than 400 of the retailer’s stores will be open from 6am until 10pm, with many stores open until 10pm on Saturday 23 December and 4pm on Christmas Eve.
M&S has also extended its Christmas food to order window until 13 December.
This comes after Christmas food-to-order sales had surged by early November, rising 25% on last year.

The retailer has also revealed it will close its stores, support centres and distribution centres on Boxing Day.
M&S is preparing for a bumper Christmas this year with boss Stuart Machin revealing that he was “quietly confident” about its performance over the golden quarter.
“We are definitely seeing good sales performance in our Christmas ranges. In food, people are buying into the ranges and actually eating those ranges now. We’re very encouraged by the numbers in our party food section for example,” he said last month.
The retailer relaunched its 12 Days of Sparks digital advent calendar last week, with this year’s campaign containing a £10k gift card prize draw.
Sparks customers will be able to ‘open a door’ a day, revealing over a million free prizes.
