Loyalty programme Nectar360 and American Express have renewed their 18-year partnership on their co-branded credit card.

The pair have worked with each other since 2005 and Nectar360, which operates the Nectar loyalty scheme, said that American Express card members make up some of its most engaged users and collect 14 times more points than average.

Nectar360 managing director Amir Rasekh said: “After 18 years of working together, we’re delighted to continue our journey with American Express, which represents exactly the kind of partner our customers value.”

“Alongside other trusted partners such as Sainsbury’s, Argos, British Airways, eBay and Esso, we are enabling customers to drive value across a huge array of household spend and across many of the UK’s most-loved brands.”

American Express vice president Nikki Edelman added: “We continue to find additional value for our customers through the partnership, as they boost their points balance and generate personalised rewards which we know they love.”

The renewal comes amid Sainsbury’s expanding Nectar Prices to different categories in a bid to compete with Tesco Clubcard prices.
