A Christmas single made by M&S employees has reached number one on the iTunes charts.
Staff from nine UK stores partnered with M&S’ ‘Team Romford’ to create the ‘Maybe This Christmas Time’ single, which launched on 27 November, LeaderLive reported.
The song, which was the third and last attempt at reaching number one for the team, hit the top spot within two hours of its initial release.

Written by Team Romford colleague Jack Brooker, the music video shows employees from the ten M&S stores setting a table for Christmas, displaying the upmarket retailer’s food including bao buns and a full roast dinner.
Other products including festive jumpers, candles, mugs and cushions are featured, as well as lifesize versions of the brand’s iconic Percy the Pig and Colin the Caterpillar.
All funds raised from the song will go to mental health charity Young Minds.
This comes as M&S relaunched its 12 Days of Sparks digital advent calendar with this year’s campaign containing a £10k gift card prize draw.
From next month, Sparks customers will be able to ‘open a door’ a day, revealing over a million free prizes.
