With shoppers feeling the pinch during the cost-of-living crisis and with Christmas just around the corner, Black Friday sales couldn’t be more vital for consumers over the coming week.
Many of the UK’s leading supermarkets are putting their efforts into cutting prices across food, drink, clothes and toys.
We round up which grocer’s will be offering sales this Black Friday (24 November) and what deals to expect online and in-stores.
Tesco’s Clubcard discounts
For Black Friday 2023, Tesco is offering a range of savings across electricals, homeware, toys and kitchen gadgets for Clubcard holders.
Some of the biggest price cuts will be across TV’s, with the Sharp 55 4K Ultra HD Roku Smart TV down £100 to £299.
Shoppers can save 60% off Silent Night Reversible Fleece Throws and 50% off a range of duvet sets and pillows.
With Christmas just over a month away, the Lego Dom’s Dodge Charger, Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon and Lego Star Wars Luke Skywalker toys will also see savings of up to £60.
Kitchen items included in the deals are the Tower Dual Digital air fryer with savings of 32% to £94, the Breville Zen toaster down 27% to £29 and the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Mini Me Automatic coffee machine for £29, down from £56.
Sainsbury’s half price beauty
Sainsbury’s is currently offering half price on selected beauty with Nectar ahead of Black Friday.
Over 30 products will see price cuts across brands inlcluding Colgate, Bondi Sands, Nivea, L’Oreal, Oral-B and BeautyPro.
Sainsbury’s is also offering 25% off Tu clothing online until midnight on 27 November.
The sale covers womenswear, menswear, kids, lingerie and baby items across brands such as Ted Baker, Fatface, Simply Be, French Connection, Jacamo and Hush Puppies.
Asda’s homeware savings
Until 4 December, Asda’s clothing brand George is offering Black Friday deals across home, general merchandise, fashion and toys.
Shoppers can save over £110 on a Shark Corded Upright Pet Vacuum cleaner in stores and get the Silent Night Heated Throw for £15 less than usual at £45.
For the kitchen, the George Home black air fryer, Ninja Foodi dual zone air fryer and Scoville air fryers will have savings of up to £50, with money also off the Gino D’Acampo soft-touch slow cooker and Russell Hobbs manual microwave.
Ahead of Christmas, saving can also be made on toys including Lego sets, the Cosatto Deluxe pram and Pokemon Go Radiant pin box.
An Asda spokesperson said: “Our hugely Black Friday sale provides shoppers with the opportunity to snap up the products they need and love at amazing prices, with trusted brands and Asda exclusives included in the offers.
“With an array of lines included in the event, we are incredibly proud to provide a one-stop shop for those looking to save money at this time of year.”
Morrisons half price cafe deals
Morrisons is cutting the price of its fish and chips meal by 50% on Black Friday (24 November) for More Card customers.
The popular main will be priced at £3.50 in its 395 cafes for one day only while stocks last.
Morrisons cafe buying manager Chris Strong said: “Bargain hunting on Black Friday can certainly work up an appetite, so why not pop into one of our cafés for the ultimate catch of the day.”
The supermarket giant has also launched Black Friday deals in its supermarket stores with customers able to save up to half price on products including toys, food and drink.
Across food, More Card customers can purchase a Terry’s Chocolate Orange for 50% off at £1 and customers not using the supermarkets loyalty scheme will receive 25% off.
Other Black Friday deals include 44% off tubes of Pringles in eight flavours, as well as up to 27% off a 1L bottle of Tanqueray or Absolut Vodka.
More Card holders can also access 50% off toys including Micro Scalextric now £40, a third off Lego Battle for Hogwarts at £50 and over 25% off Zinc Light Up Scooters at £25.
Waitrose’s Christmas discounts
While not explicitly Black Friday deals, Waitrose is offering savings across a range of food and Christmas items this week.
The upmarket retailer is rolling out ‘three for two’ deals on frozen party food including Tempura king prawns, mini veg spring rolls, and mac and cheese bites.
Essential roast dinner items such as Bisto gravy, Aunt Bessie’s roast potatoes, baby parsnips, sprouts, Yorkshire puddings and gammon will see savings of up to 25% off.
‘Three for two’ deals will also be available across Christmas cards and wrapping.
Getir’s month-long price cuts
Rapid grocery delivery firm Getir has extended its Black Friday deals throughout the entire month on November.
It is cutting the price of 50 items including British sirloin steak, HG Walter bacon, fresh fruit and Lurpak butter.
Customers can get five free fresh grocery items via the Getir app when spending a minimum of £20.
