Smart food brand yfood secures major UK listing in Tesco stores

Smart Food brand yfood has secured a major retail listing in more than 350 Tesco stores across the UK.

Since launching in 2017,  yfood has become one of the fastest growing food startups in Europe with over 125 million meals sold.

The deal marks a huge moment for the fast-growing German food company, who are expanding their foothold in the British retail sector by reforming unhealthy eating habits through its nutritionally complete ready-to-drink meals.

The new listing in the UK’s largest retailer includes three of yfood’s classic range flavours: Fresh Berry, Smooth Vanilla and Classic Choco.

Yfood has secured distribution in Tesco, WHSmith, Superdrug, Spar and Nisa in the last four months alone – adding to their existing national presence in Holland & Barrett and selected Co-op stores – showing their accelerated growth within the UK.

Ready-to-drink meals from yfood have been developed to ‘fill the gap’, particularly when fresh and healthy meals aren’t available, and are nutritionally complete with 26 essential vitamins and minerals, along with 34g of protein and fibre.

The brand also provides multiple solutions for dairy and vegan shoppers, with both options provided as lactose free, gluten free and no added sugars.

UK and Ireland country manager for yfood, Paul Sloane said: “It’s been an exciting time for yfood in the UK and our recent listing in Tesco feels like a real game-changer for the brand as we continue to grow the smart food category.

“We’re thrilled to now be stocked across more than 350 Tesco stores, massively increasing the accessibility of our products. Retail listings remain a real testament to our hard work and commitment to help get our products into shoppers hands, and we can’t wait to see them start appearing on the shelves in Tesco stores,” he added.

Yfood appointed previous Mondelez executive Paul Sloane as its new UK & Ireland country manager back in May.
