Sainsbury’s is the first UK supermarket to offer a dedicated bridal range, however Asda does sell wedding lingerie.
Tu director of product, Emma Benjafield, said: “We’re always focused on meeting our customers’ evolving needs and we know that many are looking for affordable, classic styles for wedding events.
“We know that for a lot of our customers, money is tight right now.”
This comes as Sainsbury’s is creating new fashion destination spaces across nine stores this month that will host a curated offer of complimentary brand partners alongside its Tu clothing range.
Initially, nine stores will be offering a curated edit of women’s fashion from third-party brands including Sosandar and Simply Be, as well as collections from Finery, Little Mistress by Vogue Williams, Thought, Burgs and Brakeburn.
