Amazon has officially launched on the Deliveroo app, offering a range of more than 1,000 items for delivery from its Amazon Fresh store in Hoxton.
According to The Grocer, Amazon Fresh stores will be listed on Deliveroo in coming months.
As a result, customers in the local area can now shop a range of Amazon’s own label and branded goods on the grocery delivery app.
Amazon-owned Whole Foods Market stores have been featured on the Deliveroo app since 2020, but this is the first time the ecommerce giant’s Fresh stores have been listed.
The online giant unveiled a multi-million-pound investment in Deliveroo, taking a 16% stake, in 2019. The deal was eventually cleared by the Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) the following year.
In June, speculation surged that Amazon could make an 800p-a-share takeover bid for Ocado, although the rumours quickly died down.

Director of Amazon Fresh UK, Matt Birch said: “We want to give customers the opportunity to meet all their grocery needs through one relationship with us, and we’re starting to do that right here in London with our growing portfolio of offerings.
“You can pop into an Amazon Fresh store for a coffee and croissant in the morning, order groceries for your whole family on Amazon Fresh online, or pick up a few items you missed during your shop on Deliveroo from either Amazon Fresh or Whole Foods Market,” he added.
The news comes as the online giant has opened a new Fresh convenience store in Moorgate, adding to its portfolio of London sites.
However, it shut down three Fresh convenience stores in July, sparking concerns that Amazon Fresh is not quite clicking with UK customers.
