BP appoints former Sainsbury’s exec as UK retail operations director

BP has appointed former Sainsbury’s executive Joanne Hall as its new retail operations director, reflecting its commitment to growing its convenience retail business in the UK.

In this pivotal role, Joanne will manage BP’s UK retail site network of 300 company owned retail sites and focus on enhancing the customer experience whilst driving growth initiatives.

Joanne is an accomplished commercial leader with extensive senior leadership experience. Prior to her role at the big 4 grocer, she held management positions at the Co-operative Group and Lidl, and worked as regional stores director at Sainsbury’s.

She also brings a wealth of non-executive experience, including board member roles with Arcus Facilities Management and Elim Housing.

The news comes BP has launched a new loyalty pricing programme to give customers exclusive discounts on retail store products.
