Aldi has appointed Kyrsten Halley as its new marketing director to help lead the discounter’s team and strategy.

Halley and fellow Aldi marketing director Jemma Townsend will be responsible for leading Aldi’s brand campaigns and its partnerships with TeamGB and Paralympics GB.

Both will report to marketing and communications director Nick Ridley.

Prior to joining the discount grocer, Halley held the same position at Samworth Brothers’ plant-based brand, The Flavourists.

“From Kevin the Carrot to Cuthbert the Caterpillar, and our ongoing support for Team GB and ParalympicsGB, our marketing team has been responsible for award-winning work that has driven fantastic business results.”

He added that Halley will be joining the senior marketing team “at a time when we are achieving record growth in the grocery sector”.

“Popularity and demand for Aldi has never been stronger, and the team has exciting plans for the rest of this year and into 2024.”

This comes as the grocery giant has unveiled a new long-term goal of opening 1,500 UK stores as part of a £1.3bn two-year investment plan to meet growing consumer demand.
