Warburtons appoints Samworth Brothers director as new MD

Warburtons has appointed Samworth Brothers director, Mary-Ann Kilby as its new managing director.

Having first joined the baking firm as a non-executive director in 2022, Kilby it to take on her new role at Warburtons in September, according to reporting by The Grocer.

Currently the senior commercial director of British food manufaturer, Samworth Brothers, she has been a group executive board director since 2018.

Kilby first joined the company in 2002 and has taken on various roles including sales director and managing director at the businesses subsidiaries, Melton Foods and Saladworks.

At Warburtons, Kilby will be taking over the managing director position from chairman Jonathan Warburton, who stepped into the role after former MD, Neil Campbell left the business after nine years last September.

“I have known Mary-Ann for many years and am delighted to welcome her into her new role at Warburtons,” Warburton told The Grocer.

“I am certain, that with her vast experience, common values and leadership qualities Mary-Ann will continue to drive the long-term growth of our business.”
