Aunt Bessie’s launches new meat joints range as it looks to provide complete roast dinner

Aunt Bessie’s has launched a new five-product frozen meat joints range, as the brand looks to provide a complete roast dinner offering to its consumers.

Available in frozen food retailer Iceland now, both in store and online, the move will mean Aunt Bessie’s can now supply a meat centrepiece alongside their existing roast dinner favourites such as roast potatoes and Yorkshire Puddings.

The new meat joints include beef with Salt and Black Pepper (600g), a bacon topped chicken crown (850g), honey glazed gammon (1kg), crackling pork joint with salt and pepper (1kg) and a bacon topped turkey toint (700g).

With the launch of these meat joints, consumers are now able to enjoy a full roast dinner for just £12 as part of a new roast dinner bundle that consists of a piece of meat and three sides or desserts.

The roast dinner brand believes the new NPD’s will help drive growth in the frozen food category and roast occasions.

According to Aunt Bessie’s, 56% of consumers are spending less on eating out and a further 23% are considering doing so to save money.

The new bundle was designed to target that demographic, helping those looking to save cash and providing shoppers with affordable and convenient alternatives to their usual trip out to a restaurant.

“The new frozen meat joints build on Aunt Bessies’ existing category vision, making frozen a destination for meal inspiration and providing simple but complete meal solutions for shoppers,” senior brand manager at Aunt Bessies, Andrew Dale said.

He added: “Roast dinners are synonymous with long preparation times and pre-planning – but with the new meat joints from Aunt Bessie’s, consumers can cook a roast dinner with greater convenience and for less cost. With frozen in growth at +9.8% in the last 12 weeks, it’s launches like this within the frozen category that continue to appeal to shoppers.

“The new meat joints offer the benefit and convenience of frozen alongside good value for money, which is particularly sought after given the current cost of living situation. We want to be able to help shoppers get maximum taste and value for what they’re buying for minimum cost and preparation time.”

The news comes as one in five Brits would choose a nut roast for Christmas dinner as a vegetarian option, a new survey has found.
