Aldi Specialbuys cancelled and delayed after shipping issues

Aldi customers are facing delays and cancellations for their Specialbuy items due to a global shipping disruption.

The German discount grocer, which replaced Morrisons in the Big 4, is known for its middle aisle Specialbuys, with different items going on sale every Thursday and Sunday.

However, due to the global disruption, eight items have been cancelled, which previously was expected to be available for customers to buy between 29 December 2022 and 2 January 2023.

In a statement, the discount grocer said: “Unfortunately we currently have some products that are delayed.

“This can be for many reasons such as disruptions to global shipping, but we’re working hard to get these products available as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Aldi added it was doing what it could to “provide clarity” on its expected availability dates, which is dependent on the store and region.

The news comes as Aldi recently reported a 26% in sales over the festive period, dubbing it as its “best Christmas ever”.

Throughout the festive period, sales topped £1.4 billion in December for the first time, with Aldi attributing the success to being the UK’s cheapest supermarket helping families celebrate together, despite the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
