As part of their methodology, the team at Britsuperstore used Google search data to analyse search results over the past three years across January (Veganuary) to find the supermarkets with the most searches to find the nation’s most popular supermarket for vegan food.
With Aldi on top, the UK’s largest supermarket Tesco came in second with 10,674 searches, followed closely by Asda with 10,531 searches.
Lidl and Waitrose were next, scoring 7,250 and 7,016 searches, respectively.
Marks and Spencer came in sixth with 6,356 searches, followed by Sainsbury’s with 4,910 and Iceland with 3,535.
The news comes as discount grocer Aldi has extended its partnership with Company Shop Group in a bid to reduce more food waste in the UK.
