Confectionary brand Cadbury has launched two new chocolate flavoured celebration cake products.
Its new Dairy Milk Caramel Layer Cake features a chocolate sponge with caramel sauce, covered in milk chocolate buttons and curls, while its Crunchie Celebration Cake includes honeycomb flavour sponge and filling, decorated with chocolate and honeycomb pieces.
This comes as Cadbury looks to appeal to shoppers wanting cakes for larger groups or sharing occasions and follows on from its research which found 69% of families would purchase the brand’s products for a treat.
“Consumers are demanding constant flavour innovation within the whole cake category,” Premier Foods brand director, Matthew Bird said.
“These launches provide an opportunity for retailers to bring the whole cake category to life and respond to the latest shopper demands for added value and celebration treats from brands they recognise and trust.”
Both new products are available via supermarket giants Asda and Morrisons, with the Dairy Milk Layer Cake retailing at £4 with a serving size of eight and the Crunchie offering serving 14 people at RRP £13.50.
This comes following the brand’s owner, Mondelez International’s announcement earlier this month that it is set to launch new packaging across 28 million of its Cadbury Dairy Milk sharing bars and Cadbury Mini Snowballs to include 30% certified recycled plastic.
