Asda shoppers have threatened to boycott the Big 4 grocer over its new flu jab incentive.

The supermarket giant is offering customers a cash discount on their shopping if they get book a flu jab at one of the supermarket’s 254 in-store pharmacies.

The £1 rewards will be added to customer’s cash pots when they book their private flu jabs at an Asda Pharmacy or via the Asda Pharmacy website.

Despite Asda claiming the move has been introduced as a way to “give back” to shoppers who book their jab, the supermarket giant has faced backlash from shoppers online, who are threatening to boycott the store.

Many social media users are questioning Asda, asking if the move is “coercion or bribery?”

One user branded the move as “disgusting”, with another user threatening to “never shop there again” over the “bad” move made by the grocer.

 

Another customer added: “Desperate times for supermarkets who incentivise taking Pharma products to get a discounted food shop.”
