M&S partners with Tom Kerridge to offer family meal planner

M&S has partnered with Michellin-starred chef Tom Kerridge to create a meal planner with five family-friendly recipes, costing £2 per person for each meal.

As part of the high street retailer’s aim to hold prices across its ‘Remarksable’ value range, the partnership will also provide tips on how to make ingredients go further and how to reduce food waste.

The first initiative of the three-year collaboration will see Kerridge in M&S’ new TV advert where the meal planner will be introduced across ITV, Channel 4 and YouTube.

A QR code on each planner will take customers to an online hub where further details and videos will be available to view, as well as each of the five recipes – which include chipotle chicken thighs with herby rice and roasted spiced cauliflower with slow-cooked onions and greens.

The price of all products within the ‘Remarksable’ range, such as the 32 ingredients which make up the recipes, will be locked over the duration of the summer in a bid to keep food costs low.

“One of the big things is having a shopping list and an understanding of menu prepping and meal planning, knowing what you’re going to cook over the next five or seven days,” Tom Kerridge said.

“Build together the recipes you’re going to cook, and only buy what you need – a little bit of structure works really well.”

M&S Food marketing director Sharry Cramond added: “Great value matters now more than ever and we want to make it as easy as possible for families to create delicious dishes from the comfort of their home.

“1 in 5 people say they are eating together more as a family since the Covid-19 pandemic – our Dine In offer led the way in giving families all the experience and quality of eating out without the price tag and Tom’s delicious ‘Remarksable’ meal planner does just the same.”
