The Fed names Graham Stafford as new chief operating officer

The Federation of Independent Retailers (The Fed) has appointed its new chief operating officer, Graham Stafford.

The non-profit organisation welcomed Stafford on Monday 4 July where he will be located at the Durham head office.

Stafford’s previous roles include COO at Amazing Instore and senior roles for both Nokia and Sony.

This position will see Stafford working with Jason Birks’, the company’s national president, as well as its national executive committee, national finance committee, national councillors and senior management.

“The Fed has a long history of supporting independent retailers and they need our help and support more than ever,” Graham Stafford said.

“I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and helping members tackle the myriad issues facing them.”

The Federation of Independent Retailers national president, Jason Birks added: “I am delighted to welcome Graham into The Fed family.”

“He brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record of achievement, so I look forward to working with him to build on the Fed’s strengths and to grow our membership.”

This news follows The Fed’s announcement that its former interim chief operating officer, Stuart Hale had left the position after just five months.
