Closely following Morrisons in the most complained list is the Co-op, Asda and M&S with 96.67%, 96.21% and 96.15% negative reviews, respectively.

Sitting comfortably in the middle of the table are Lidl, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose with 91.18%, 88.57% and 87.95% negative reviews, respectively.

The supermarket with the least amount of negative reviews was Aldi, with 77.17%, beating out both Iceland and Tesco at 87.67% and 81.67%, respectively.

Categorically, the most complained about financial issue across all UK supermarkets in 2022 was money at 52%. Price increase complaints appeared in 19% of reviews and expensiveness appeared in 15%.

The news comes as Morrisons has saved convenience chain McColl’s in a last-minute triumph over EG Group, saving 16,000 jobs and stopping 1,100 stores across Britain from closing.

This came after McColl’s Retail Group, one of Britain’s biggest convenience store chains, fell into administration on Friday, prompting both Morrison and Issa brother owned EG Group to compete for a rescue deal.
