Tate & Lyle has announced the appointment of Dr Isabelle Esser who will join the board as a non-executive director and member of the remuneration and nominations committees on 1 June 2022.
Esser joins the company with over 30 years of experience in global consumer food and ingredient companies.
She spent over 25 years with Unilever, where she held a range of innovation and transformation roles including executive vice president research and development foods.
After leaving Unilever in 2019, Esser became the chief human resources officer at Barry Callebaut Group and will take up the role of chief research innovation and food quality safety officer at Danone SA, In April 2022.

“I am delighted that Isabelle has agreed to join the board. Her scientific expertise and extensive technology leadership experience in our markets will be of significant benefit to the Board,” chair of Tate & Lyle Dr Gerry Murphy said.
The news comes after Tate & Lyle has announced the appointment of Dawn Allen as its new chief financial offer, with effect from 18 May 2022.
She joins the company from Mars Incorporated, where she has been global chief financial officer and vice president of global transformation since 2020.
