Aldi has launched its giant hot cross bun, said to be as big as a human head, available in stores and online from March 27.
The Giant Brioche Hot Cross Bun is four times the size of a standard bun packed with all the same spices, fruits and glazes you would expect in a standard bun.
Aldi debuted its Giant Brioche Hot Cross Bun alongside TikTok star Samantha Ramsdell, the Guinness world record holder for the largest female mouth.

She broadcast the “bun-believable” challenge to her 2.9 million TikTok followers as she tried to fit Aldi’s new 600g bun into her mouth in one bite, but was unsuccessful.
“Despite failing the challenge, I really loved the taste. The bun is super buttery and delicious with loads of juicy fruit – one to tell my American pals about for sure,” Ramsdell said.
The new giant hot cross bun joins the discount retailers’ full range of Hot Cross Buns on offer this Easter, including the new strawberries and cream, and cheddar cheese and caramelised onion.
The news comes after Aldi announced the launch of its limited-edition infusionist Hot Cross Bun Gin Liqueur to celebrate Easter.
