The Vegan Kind (TVK), the 100% plant-based grocery retailer, has appointed Tony Buffin as its non-executive director or chairman.
Buffin, who was previously the chief executive officer of Holland & Barrett International, is expected to bring a wealth of experience to support the vegan retailer’s steady expansion.
Additionally, Buffin founded Tesca, a digital ecosystem and analytic software company and was also the chairman of Highbourne Group, the UK’s largest multi-channel Plumbing & Heating group.

“I am delighted to be joining The Vegan Kind to help Scott, Karris and the entire team continue to build their wonderful business. Their mission is to make it easy for everyone to buy exciting plant-based food at affordable prices and help us all to live healthier,” Buffin said.

The news comes after TVK managed to raise £3.5 million last year in a Series A funding round led by investment firm Literacy Capital – to accelerate its growth plans.
With Buffin’s “broad range of industry skills” TVK hopes to “scale even faster” to deliver “the best plant-based food and health & beauty products” to the UK’s increasingly eco-conscious consumers.
